2010 One Square Block Contest

In 2010, River of Words teamed up once again with the San Francisco Estuary Partnership to offer a special, localized competition as part of the larger River of Words Environmental Art & Poetry Contest.

The One Square Block Contest invited students living in 12 Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo counties) to explore their immediate neighborhoods and to submit art and poetry about their local environments (natural, built and cultural).
