In addition to conducting the world's largest children's poetry contest, River of Words also devotes itself to curriculum development; teacher training; community building; public events and exhibitions; media outreach; partnership development in support of education, the arts and watershed protection; and the strengthening of local arts and conservation groups. ROW is intended to enrich, inspire and educate not only schoolchildren, but also the general public, bringing an awareness of community, nature, beauty, art and the spoken word.

We are an incredibly lean operation with a small staff and an enormous reach.Your support is of critical importance to us, particularly in this time of transition.

We accept most vehicles, even if they don't run (some restrictions may apply on older vehicles).
