Song for Night and Day

Night
Darkness seeps into my veins
Crawls though my bones
And swallows me whole.
It reaches out, drawing me in,
Showing me a different world
And my place in it.

Day
Sun welcomes me into the world,
Shows me a place to wonder and dream,
And sits me down.
It tumbles its flowers,
Its breezes, and its charms
Into my lap
And the sun looks at me saying,
“What are you going to do with it?”

So I will sing, and tell of my wonder
At the night
And my devotion to the day,
And I will ask you...
“What are you going to do with it?”
