Colorful Shooting Star Night

In Puerto Rico it’s midnight.
We are on the beach. My friend Jason is
on his cell phone. I’m tired and looking at the sky.

Out of nowhere I see a blue star
go WHAM like a getaway car. Five minutes
later Jason says, Junito, look at the shooting star!

And you didn’t believe me before? I say.
We see more colors that night. Yellow,
a brightish white. I wonder if they see

them in the city. The sky that night was
like a flash of snow falling in the streets.

0000000000Destellos de Estrellas Fugaces

0000000000En Puerto Rico era media noche.
0000000000Estábamos en la playa. Mi amigo Jason
0000000000estaba en el cellular. Estaba cansado y
0000000000miraba al cielo.

0000000000De repente de la nada vio una estrella fugaz
0000000000Que hizo Wham…como un carro volador.
0000000000Cinco minutos más tarde Jason dice,
0000000000¡Junito mira la estrella fugaz!

0000000000Y no me cresíste anteriormente.
0000000000Vemos muchos colores esta noche.
0000000000El cielo esta noche parece un destello
0000000000cayendo sobre las calles.
