Poetry

The one question that eludes us
The only answer we can find.
A way to look inside ourselves
Feeling absolutely blind.

Shout it from a rooftop
Scribble quietly through tears
Dance to its unheard melody
Recall the passing years.

A humbling reminder
That we will never understand,
What lies beyond the horizon
What is written in the sand.

A joyous proclamation
That the human soul is real,
That even in the darkest times
We have the power to feel.

I heard voices in my dreams
I saw a message in the sky
The crashing waves, they sang to me
A withered flower made me cry.

Then with clearness I did see
That every rock, and every tree
Every moment dear to me
This, my friend, is poetry.
